Murton (County Durham)
Other World War memorials can be found in various locations around the village including the Victoria Working Men's Club, Holy Trinity parish church and St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. A war memorial plaque was once attached to the exterior of the RC church underneath a large crucifix, but the original church was demolished and replaced by a more modern building creating the need for a relocation of the memorial. The plaque can now be found on the front face of a sarcophagus-style monument in the churchyard.
