Shawdon Park, Shawdon Hall, Hedgeley (Hedgeley)

The landscaped park at Shawdon Hall was created in 1779, when the house was built. The new owner was William Hargrave. The park includes avenues, an artificial lake, an archway and gates, a ha ha and various walled gardens and lodges. The park stands on the site of the deserted medieval village of Shawdon. Many of the structures within Shawdon Park are Listed Buildings, protected by law
