Yetlington shrunken medieval village (Whittingham and Callaly)

NU 024099. Deserted medieval village at Yetlington (Nothing visible on available aerial photographs (RAF 1946)). (1)

Yetlington now consists of one farmstead and associated cottages. No surface indications of depopulation are apparent in the vicinity. (2)

NU 022097. Yetlington deserted medieval village. Documentary references: 1296, 1336, 1377, 1717. Earthworks exist of a row of houses in the form of a series of platforms from the modern cottages at NU 021097 to just short of the farmhouse at NU 024098. There is also curving broad ridge and furrow behind the platforms suggestive of individual plots. (3)
