Marleyknowe henge (Ewart)
In the 19th century a small circular earthwork was recorded near Marleyknowe. Since that time the enclosure has been ploughed down and now it can only be seen as a cropmark from the air. Aerial photographs show an almost circular enclosure with a diameter of about 30m. The surrounding ditch is cut in short sections with causeways or ramps across it. The enclosure is thought to be a henge and probably dates to the late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
