Haughton medieval village (Humshaugh)

'NY 920730' Haughton village destroyed for emparking c.1816. (1)

No visible remains. Nothing visible on available aerial photographs (RAF 1946). (2)

A village is recorded at Haughton in the 13th century. There are few documents about the village but it seems to have survived to some extent until the 19th century. It was cleared away when the parkland at Haughton Castle was created about 1816. (3)
