Cup and ring marked rocks, Hunterheugh Crags (Hedgeley)
Cups and ring marked stones on Hunterheugh Crags were probably carved by people over 4500 years ago, in what archaeologists call the Neolithic period. Archaeologists think these mysterious carvings may be related to the carvers' religion, or to land boundaries. The rocks are near other carved rock outcrops.
