Cragend Farm Romano-British homestead (Cartington)
In the early 20th century a small enclosure was noted north of Cragend Farm and a quern was discovered nearby. It is not clear whether the whole enclosure was visible at this time, but by the 1970s only the southern part remained. The enclosure may have been a Romano-British homestead and it originally measured about 28m in diameter. The edges are marked by a bank of earth and stone, with traces of a ditch in places.
