Callaly Moor burnt mound (Whittingham and Callaly)
The remains of a prehistoric burnt mound were discovered by the banks of a tributary of the Coe Burn on Callaly Moor in about 1990. It was made up of black silty sand with burnt stone, wood and charcoal. Some of the charcoal was dated to 3920+/- 80bp.
