Larbottle, or Lorbottle Square, which according to the owner was its former proper name, comprises a farm, outbuildings and farmworkers' cottages.
The location given by Authority 1 falls in an area of permanent rough pasture, largely under rig-and-furrow, but no earthworks of occupation were found here or elsewhere in the vicinity of Lorbottle and the owner reports no former earthworks or relevant finds in fields on the east and north of the farm that are now under cultivation.
