Low Carrick farmstead remains (Elsdon)
Low Carrick ruined farmstead by Elsdon Burn. Substantial remains of farmstead, garth and sod-cast enclosures. Earliest recorded date and references to Low Carrick 1693+ Elsdon Parish Registers; 1731 Elsdon Inclosure Award; 1769 map (Armstrong); not shown in ruins on OS 1898 map. Reputed school house for local children (from Mr Armstrong of High Carrick), no documentary evidence to support this. (1)
