Bronze Age cairn at Catcherside (Kirkwhelpington)
A small cairn, 29ft in diameter, and 1-1/2ft. high with a peristalith, three stones of which are still standing, and the holes from which others have been removed distinguishable. The body of the cairn has been denuded to build an adjacent wall.
Two cremations under inverted urns were found 9ft east, and 5ft north east of the centre respectively. The latter had disintegrated, and only the rim survived. (1)
A triangle of stones about 100 yards north of the road between Catcherside and Chesters Farms, and north of three stones in alignment (Area NY 99738783) is undoubtedly the remains of Greenwell's barrow. (2)

No trace of cairn survives other than a single stone at NY 99898787, which may be one of those mentioned by Greenwell and Hall. (4)
