The Chesters, prehistoric enclosure between Whelpington and Heeston (Kirkwhelpington)
A prehistoric enclosure gave the name `The Chesters' to a field on the east side of the road between Whelpington and Heeston. A 19th century writer describes it as being roughly circular, surrounded by an earth and stone bank. Nothing can be seen at the site today.
