Ottercops Chain Home radar station (Elsdon)
A radar station was built at Ottercops during World War II (1939 to 1945). It was part of the Chain Home Stations (East Coast type) and three steel transmission masts, four 240-feet (73m) tall wooden receiver towers, transmitter and receiver huts. The radar station was protected by four light anti-aircraft artillery sites nearby.
