East Errington (Wall)
This is the site of the shrunken medieval village of East Errington. It was first recorded in the late 13th century, and in the early 15th century the Scots attacked it. This destruction badly affected the village and it was probably nearly deserted by the mid 18th century. (1)(2)
Medieval boundary banks are visible as earthworks on air photographs at NY 9574 7161. The banks are broad and partially overlain by medieval/ post medieval ridge and furrow. They may relate to the medieval settlement of East Errington. (3a)
