Palisade enclosure and hut circle (Corbridge)

Excavations in 1952-3 at Corbridge Roman station and town discovered an earlier structure, probably dating to the late Bronze Age or early Iron Age. The circular enclosure measured about 60 feet (18.2m) in diameter and was marked by a small round-bottomed ditch. There was an entrance on the west side and a hut circle. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
