Pawston deserted medieval village (Kilham)

NT 854327: Deserted medieval village at Pawston. (1)

Nothing visible on OS air photographs. (2)

Documentary references: 1296, 1336, 1377, 1541, 1580, 1665. The village site was occupied by estate cottages throughout the 19th century, most of which have been abandoned. Some earthwork enclosures were recognised in the field behind the farmbuildings at NT 855328. (3)
