Roman road from Chesters fort (Humshaugh)
A Roman road runs from the south gateway of Chesters Roman fort to meet the Stanegate. The road can be seen clearly on aerial photographs, which show it running along the top of the river bank, next to the River North Tyne. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
