Warden long mound (Warden)
This long earth mound lies on the valley side close to the junction of the North and South Tyne rivers. It is around 65m long and 24m wide. At the west end traces of a possible stone-lined grave can be seen. The date and purpose of this unusual monument are not certain, though it could well be a Neolithic earthwork used for ceremonial purposes.
