Roman Inscription from Fallowfield Fell (Wall)

[Name centred NY 93906875] Rock inscribed Petra Flavi Carantini [G.S.] (1)

Fallowfield Fell where a Roman quarryman, Flavius Carantinus, left his name upon the rock. The 'inscription' has now been removed to Chesters Museum. (2)(3)(4)

From the positioning of the name (1) probably sited to NY 93776875. There is no trace of antiquity in the area. The inscription is still in Chesters Museum. (5)
