Beldon lead mine and ore works (Blanchland)
Small shaft mine, 18the century in origin. Briefly enlarged 1805 and closed by 1820. Re-opened c.1860s-1870s. Two good stone-lined shafts and engine house ruin 18th century; crushing mill, wheelpits, flat rod line 19th century. Undisturbed. Remains consist of shafts, engine house, adit, wheelpit, rodway, spoil heap, crushing mill, dressing waste, other building, culvert and leat. (1)
Further lead mining remains in County Durham, probably associated with Beldon. (2)
