Fairney Cleugh 1 prehistoric field system (Otterburn)

This area is known as Fairney Cleugh 1, and contains a later prehistoric field system of low stony banks, which includes Iron Age cord rig cultivation. This field system is associated with the Roman period settlements that it surrounds. These earthworks are part of a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
