Shittleheugh Bastle (Otterburn)
Shittleheugh Bastle dates to the post-medieval period. The building has no roof or upper floors, but features that can be seen include: slit windows, a doorway with holes for a lock in the surrounding stone, built in cupboards, and traces of a fireplace. Shittleheugh Bastle is a Scheduled Monument and Grade II Listed Building protected by law.
