The present farm is mid-19th century in date and comprises a farmhouse and a group of farm buildings. However, the earliest reference to a farm here occurs in the early 17th century, in a survey of 1604. It is also listed in a document of 1618, in the Elsdon Parish Registers for 1673 to 1690, the poll books from 1710 onwards and in census returns.
