Kellyburn (Rochester and Byrness)
A small group of buildings and yards or gardens lie on the lower northern slopes of Kellyburn Hill. Three survive as rectangular mounds of earth and stone up to 1.4m high and three others are less well defined. The remains of another building are clearly later and in the 1970s it had walls still standing 1.8m high. The name Kellyburn is marked on the first edition Ordnance Survey map in the 1860s and this is probably the remains of the settlement. On the east and west sides of the hamlet are traces of medieval ridge and furrow cultivation.
