Rose Cottage bastle at High Rochester (Rochester and Byrness)
At High Rochester there are two buildings that have their origins as bastles. Rose Cottage has a large boulder plinth and lower parts of the bastle walls with later fabric built on top, but The Bastle has more original fabric. This is a Grade II Listed Building protected by law.
