This farmstead and field system are Romano-British in date and are situated in a commanding position above the River Rede. The farmstead is sub-rectangular in plan, measures 53m by 46m, and is defined by a ditch and bank. The entrance lies through the south side and is carried across the ditch on a causeway. The inside of the farmstead was partly excavated in 1957 and revealed the stone foundations of a circular house. Outside the east side of the farmstead are the low remains of a field system stretching down to the River Rede. It survives as a series of field walls which create small rectangular plots. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
