Hadrian's Wall and vallum between the road to Simonburn and the field boundary east of Carrawburgh car park in wall miles 29, 30 and 31 (Newbrough and Fourstones; Simonburn; Warden)

This stretch of Hadrian's Wall runs between the road to Simonburn and Carrawburgh. The wall survives as a buried feature for much of this stretch, except for two well-preserved sections. Elsewhere the Wall is visible as a stony bank. The outer ditch that runs parallel to the Wall survives well throughout this section, and is most impressive at Limestone Corner where it is cut into the bedrock. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law.
