Cultivation terraces (Birtley)

[Centred NY 873787] Cultivation Terraces. (1)

Cultivation terraces, from 5 feet to 10 feet high, stretch along the elevated ground between High Carry House Camp and Birtley Village. (2)

Six terraces extend over a distance of 400m. They vary from 4m to 9m in width and 1m to 3m in height. Four more terraces abut the south-west end. (3)
