Morralee was a manor in the lordship of Langley in medieval times. The size of the medieval settlement is not known but it seems to have been a small as only one taxpayer was assessed in the late 13th century Lay Subsidy. It was described as a hamlet in the 14th century and as a manor and vill in the 15th century. Seven houses are shown on an early 17th century plan but it seems to have shrunk in size by then as several plots are shown with no buildings in them. The fields of the village had been reorganised by 1736 and eight houses were recorded at that time. There are now two farmhouses and two cottages but no earthworks of the earlier settlement have been found.
