East Frankham lime kiln (Warden)
These are the remains of a 19th century lime kiln. It was built of stone. Limestone was built in kilns such as this to produce lime, which was used to make cement or improve soil quality. (1)(2)
Post medieval lime kiln (centred at NY 8939 6892), situated within a quarry (NY 86 NE 40), visible as a structure on air photographs taken in 1966. (3a)
