* a wall-mounted brass plaque, inscribed: IN MEMORY OF/ COLONERL GEORGE ELLIOTT BENSON,/ ROYAL ARTILLERY,/ YOUNGEST SON OF/ WILLIAM AND JANE BENSON,/ OF ALLERWASH,/ WHO DIED OF WOUNDS RECEIVED/ IN ACTION WHILE COMMANDING/ HIS COLUMN AT BRAKENLAAGTE,/ TRANSVAAL, OCT. 31ST 1901, AGED 40./ HE SERVED WITH DISTINCTION IN/ THE SOUDAN CAMPAIGNS OF/ 1885, 1896, 1898/ IN THE ASHNATI EXPEDITION 1895/ IN THE SOUTH AFRICAN WAR/ 1899 - 1901/ "PRO PATRIA MORI". (Second Boer War).
