Learmouth (Carham)
This is the site of the deserted medieval village of Learmouth. It was founded in the medieval period, but although it was destroyed by Scottish raiders and English rebels in the 16th century it survived into the 18th century. In 1769 a map shows a mansion at West Learmouth and a group of buildings at East Learmouth. By the 19th century only two farms stood at the site of the village.
