Polished stone axes from Troughend (Rochester and Byrness)

A celt of felstone was ploughed up in 1877 at Troughend on hitherto unbroken heathland. It is 6-1/2ins long and its greatest width above the cutting edge is 2-3/4ins. Two similar implements, one broken, have been found in the district. (1)
