There are hints that this farmhouse is actually much older than it might seem at first. The main part of the farmhouse measures 12.4m long by 5.9m wide, has one wall over one metre thick and around its base is a plinth made of boulders. These features are elements commonly associated with bastles and it may be the farmhouse began life as one of these buildings and was converted in the 18th century.
