Roman branch road from the Military Way to Milecastle 36. (1)

MacLauchlan noted a branch road from Milecastle 36 to the Military Way (3b). (3a)

A Roman road runs from Milecastle 36 at NY 7973 6929 to join the Military Way (NY 7975 6920) at an oblique angle. The turf-covered agger is up to 4m wide and 0.3m high. The road was previously recorded under NY 76 NE 2. (3c)

The road is visible on air photographs and was mapped as part of the Hadrian's Wall National Mapping Project. (3d)
