Kennels Field post-medieval farmstead (Kielder)
Earthworks are all that can be seen today of a post-medieval farmstead at Kennels Fields. The remains of a stone house and rectangular enclosures are visible as grass-covered mounds and banks. The farmstead may have been used only during the summer months, or it could have been lived in all year round. Seasonal farmsteads are called shielings.
