Bronze Age flint tool, found near Kielder Viaduct (Kielder)
NY 632924 Flint dagger found by Mr M Sanderson in the River North Tyne near to Kielder Viaduct. (1)
Found on the west bank of the river at approximately NY 63229251 around July 1959. Now in the Border Forest Park Museum, Kielder. (2)
The artefact from the River North Tyne has been re-examined, This is of 'volcanic stone' rather than flint. It is broken, but is described by Authority 1 as of similar form to the Highfield Hope dagger. However this is not so. It is best regarded as an unclassified large leaf point. (3)
