Todholes lime kiln (Greenhead)
A well-preserved, early to mid-19th century lime kiln. It is built into a bank and is made of stone and brick. (1)(2)
The earthwork remains of an area of probable Post Medieval limestone quarring centred at NY 6478 6434. Within the quarry workings the remains of a lime kiln could also be seen at NY 6481 6435. This area of quarrying and lime production was mapped from historical aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hadrian's Wall NMP project. (3a)
