Dunstanstead pillbox (Craster)

Dunstanstead pillbox. Concrete octagonal structure with two long sides each with two holes. In good condition. The dunes have built up around the structure but are eroding where a path has broken the grass cover. See photograph C19. (1)

World War 2 octagonal pillbox preserved in the dunes above the beach. (2)

Coastal pillbox recorded under the name of Embleton Bay. (3)

NU 246 225. Pillbox; no specification. Embleton Bay. Constructed of concrete 1940-1 as part of the Northumberland Coast Defences. Extant, condition said to be uncertain. (4a)

NU 246 225, pillbox, also described as a section post, constructed of concrete with corrugated iron shuttering. (4c)

Located on the sand dunes to the north of Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Club. (4d)

A Second World War pillbox is visible as a structure on air photographs, centred at NU 2464 2244. The feature is still extant on the latest 1999 Ordnance Survey vertical photography. (4e)
