World War II bombing decoy site (Longhoughton)
This bombing decoy site was in operation between 1940 and 1941 as part of Britain's defences during World War II. It was meant to prevent enemy bombers from attacking Acklington airfield nearby. It consisted of structures which mimicked the look of an airfield, including dummy aircraft.
