Later prehistoric defended site known as `Alnmouth Castle' Pine Hill, Lesbury (Lesbury)
Earthworks at Pine Hill, a spur of ground near Alnmouth may be the remains of artificial steepening. A bank across the neck of the spur creates an enclosed area, which may be a later prehistoric defended site. This site was given the name `Alnmouth Castle' at a later date.
