Bronze Age spear found in the river Aln near Alnmouth (Lesbury)
(NU 23811158). Spear found AD1858. (The words occur near a footbridge on map and used in conjunction with the following data, obviously refer to the footbridge over the River Aln at Lesbury).
A bronze spearhead 5-3/8ins long with side loops was found in the bed of the River Aln near Alnmouth in making a footbridge. (1)
Now in Alnwick Castle Museum, Case H No 247. (2)
Sited to centre of modern footbridge. The present location of this Bronze Age looped spearhead is correct. (3)
