Anglo-Saxon stone on Coquet Island (Hauxley)

Stone slab found on the beach below lighthouse [NU 20 SE 23] in 1969 by E Dunn of Department of Zoology, University of Durham. Measures 203mm high x 172-150mm wide x 37.5mm deep. Now in Department of Archaeology, University of Durham.
On one broad face is a cross. Stone could be a grave marker from the early monastic cemetery. Distinctive triangular top, unique in Northumbrian series. Last quarter of 7th to first quarter of 8th century in date. (1)
