Coquet Island lighthouse (Hauxley)

Coquet Island lighthouse.
Lighthouse built in 1839-41 incorporating a medieval Benedictine monastic cell (NU 20 SE 3). White painted square tower with a crenellated parapet 21.9m (72ft) high. (1)

1841 Trinity House lighthouse complex. The lower three floors of the tower are medieval with traces of old openings and 19th century windows; embattled parapet and circular lantern with dome and weathervane. (2)

This record is included in the NRHE record for the Benedictine cell on Coquet Island (HER 5591). The additional references within the NRHE record have been added to HER 5591 which directly relates to the monastic site. (3)
