Hole of the Laidley Worm (Easington (Northumberland))
A natural spring emerges through a hole in the crags here. The hole itself is traditionally though to be the home of a monster called the Laidley Worm. A poem about the worm has been written, possibly in 1320, but more likely in the 18th century.
