St Eligius Chapel, Spindlestone Heugh (Easington (Northumberland))
St Eligius Chapel at Spindlestone Heugh is first mentioned in a document written in 1590. The foundations are visible as earthworks today. Excavations in June 2018 found the remains of a rectangular building made of whinstone as well as traces of a possible earlier building beneath it, which may be the chapel.
