Minor depopulation remains consisting of low banks and scarps which form four possible building sites and a single croft. Surveyed at 1:2500. (4)

Budle deserted medieval village. Documentary references: 1242, 1296, 1336, 1302, 1321, 1387, 1580, 1653, 1696, 1722, 1778, 1769, 1805, 1828 and 1861. 19th century earthworks in field opposite farmhouse at NU 156351. Extensive ridge and furrow. (6)
Earthworks and some evidence of walls apparent from ground level. Various shapes visible in aerial photography taken from Google Earth in 2016. (7)
Probable remains of the medieval village of Budle consisting of platforms and associated field boundary, ditch and banks are visible as earthworks on air photographs centred at NU 1561 3517.
Platforms are visible at NU 1571 3514 and NU 1555 3525 respectively. A rectilinear field boundary is visible to the west running for approximately 150m.
Part of the monument appears to be still extant on the latest 1963 RAF vertical photography. (8a-b)
