Looped and socketed axe found when draining land in the neighbourhood of Newham Lough in 1868. The socket is trumpet mouthed. (2)
The axe is in the collection of the Rev W Greenwell. (3)
There is no recorded information available to authorise the siting given by Hedley; present location of axe not known, but probably in the Greenwell collection in the British Museum. (4)
