Bolton Mill (Hedgeley)
The remains of a mill stand by the side of the River Aln. Although the building has survived the machinery was removed in the 1960s. There is documentary evidence of a mill here since the 13th century, but this building dates to the early 19th century. It was still in use in 1904, but had closed by 1935. This is a Grade II Listed Building protected by law.
