Battle Bridge cist (Edlingham)

NU 11791216 (b) A cist was found in the field to the north east of Battle Bridge farm. It measured approximately 5ft 2ins x 18ins and consisted of four slabs of freestone set upright, with a coverstone. There were no finds within the cist (a).
It was encountered when ploughing during the early part of the war (1939-45) when the field was being cultivated for the first time. No remains of the cist or indications of any barrow survive. (1)
